Bi Luo Chun Green Tea

$18.00
One of the top 10 famous Chinese teas, Bi Luo Chun (Jade Spiral Spring) is renowned for its distinctive spiral leaf, delicate fruity taste, floral aroma and early spring harvest.

Our Bi Luo Chun was harvested in mid-March by the Hong family. The dry leaf produces an aroma of fruit blossoms that likely is due to the tea plants’ cultivation on a lake island filled with a variety of flowering fruit trees. The taste is light and crisp with rich vegetal notes and a sweet and savory finish.

Bi Luo Chun became very popular during the Ming Dynasty and was a tribute tea during the Qing Dynasty. The name describes its important characteristics: Bi (Jade) – the deep green color, Luo (Snail) – the spiral shape similar to a snail and Chun (Spring) – the early spring picking which contributes to the downy white feathery appearance of the dry leaf.

Origin: China, Jiangsu Province, Suzhou, Dong Ting Mountain
