Highly prized by Chinese scholars and artists of the Ming Dynasty, Yixing teapots are made of porous, unglazed clay that enhances the flavor of fine Chinese teas. Due to the small size, these teapots are commonly used for “gong fu” style tea service. As the porous clay absorbs the flavor of the tea, it is recommended that only one type of tea be used in a particular teapot.
Our Yixing teapots are crafted in China in a traditional style and include a built in strainer behind the spout.

Teapot Preparation & Care: the pot should be boiled in water for at least ten minutes and allowed to dry before its first infusion. After use, rinse with hot water and allow to air-dry.
