Bai Hao ("white tip") oolong is a handpicked and carefully crafted Taiwan oolong tea that is prized for its deep amber color and smooth, honey-sweet taste. Made by picking the bud and first two leaves, this tea has a wonderful floral-fruity aroma and notes of honey and ripe peach. Our Bai Hao is produced by an award-winning, third-generation tea maker. Bai Hao oolong makes a nice complement to desserts.
Brewing Guide
We recommend brewing Bai Hao Oolong in the gongfu style, using a small teapot or gaiwan, to appreciate the wonderful aromatics and the unique flavors that unfurl over several infusions. Add tea leaves to fill the teapot about one-third full. Fill the pot with hot water and let the tea steep about 45 seconds to 1 minute. Increase the steeping time by 10-15 seconds for each subsequent brew. Most oolong teas can be re-steeped at least 6 times in this manner.
Western Style: Use 1 tbsp. (5g) per 6 oz. cup. Heat water to 185° F Let steep 2 minutes. Good for multiple infusions.
